This Cooperative was created by a group of women of the village of Ixf N’Ighir in order to sell their products handmade by 20 women being part of the cooperative of Ixf N’Iger, a village carved into the edges of the valley of Ait Bouguemez. All the women of the cooperative are weavers, specializing in Beni Ourain rugs, which are famous for their geometric patterns.
Hakout, one of the founders of the cooperative and learned the craft of weaving from her mother, focusing on Hanbel or Kilim rugs. All of the money that she earns through the cooperative is used to support her family as she is divorced. She hopes that the products are successful and that the cooperative continues to improve and develop.
